Middlesex County Cricket Club Gets New Sponsor

January 10, 2012

Brooks Macdonald Group has become a new sponsor of Middlesex County Cricket Club for an initial period of three years.

The AIM-listed wealth manager’s brand will be visible on the players’ kits and at county’s home ground, Lords, the home of English cricket. Brooks has assumed the contract from Ignis, which ended its three-year sponsorship of index at the end of last year.

The deal comes as Middlesex have enjoyed some success on the field. The county team which has superstars like England captain Andrew Strauss and fellow England stars Steven Finn and Eoin Morgan on its books got promoted to the first division of the LV= County Championship on the last day of the 2011 season

Brooks Macdonald chief Chris Macdonald said: “Following the significant growth of the group over recent years, we have been exploring options to further increase the visibility of the Brooks Macdonald brand amongst our target client base.

“As a firm, we are passionate about wealth management and sport and having considered a number of opportunities, the sponsorship of Middlesex was by far the strongest fit as well as a logical expansion of our long running sponsorship of schools’ sports teams and other amateur sports clubs, which number in excess of 50 since our launch. These will continue.

“The three year deal is an important milestone in our marketing activity and we are very excited to be working closely with the Middlesex team.”
