Michel Platini Happy with Council of Europe Stand on Match-Fixing

cough helvetica, clinic sans-serif;”>UEFA President Michel Platini has congratulated the Council of Europe over their stand to stop match-fixing and asks other countries to follow in the footsteps of Spain and Italy in penalising the offence.

“The Council of Europe has today taken the political lead in the fight against this menace to the future of sport, and I hope the EU institutions will follow.” 

Match-fixing scandals are becoming more and more common with the top tiers of football in Israel, Greece and, most recently, Turkey having investigations and penalties.
