Mercedes-Benz Named Official Car Partner of Ironman

IRONMAN has secured an official new car partner in the form of German manufacturer Mercedes-Benz who will showcase its Viano model.
The sponsorship commitment includes the IRONMAN European Championship in Frankfurt, generic the IRONMAN 70.3 European Championship in Wiesbaden and the IRONMAN 70.3 in Berlin. Mercedes-Benz will supply the Viano as lead car for the races, as part of the Official Car Fleet and also to support athletes with transportation on a broad scale.
Kai Walter, Chief Operations Officer of the World Triathlon Corporation (WTC) in Europe, said: “We are very pleased that with Mercedes-Benz we have a premium partner on our side – this is a sign also of the strength and uniqueness of our events.”
The partnership was facilitated by Infront Sports & Media, the marketing partner of the World Triathlon Corporation (WTC).
Stephan Herth, Executive Director Summer Sports at Infront, added: “The IRONMAN races attract participants from more than 50 countries – supported by friends and families that accompany the athletes throughout the entire event weekend. As a result, it provides globally operating companies with numerous qualitative touch points to engage with an open-minded, demographically attractive target group.”
