Mayweather-Pacquiao Bout Generates Record Sponsorship Deal

The hugely anticipated welterweight boxing clash between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquaio has secured the largest sponsorship deal ever in the sport, according to a report by ESPN.
Todd duBoef, president of Top Rank, Pacquiao’s promoter, told ESPN.com that five title sponsors have been signed up for the fight at a combined cost of $13.2 million.
The bout is already set to break revenue records with the fight expected to generate up to $400m, largely through pay-per-view sales.
ESPN revealed that Mexican beer company Tecate was the biggest sponsor for the fight, signing a deal worth $5.6m.
The other four sponsors are the Mexican Tourism Board, Smart Communications, Paramount Pictures and The Weinstein Company.
The fight will take place on May 2nd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
