Massa To Race In Formula E

May 16, 2018

Felipe Massa has agreed a three-year deal to race in Formula E from next season.

The former F1 star will join Monaco-based Venturi, which is co-owned by actor Leonardo DiCaprio, from the 2018-19 campaign.

Massa spent 15 years in Formula 1, winning 11 grand prix, before quitting last year. The Brazilian worked with Sauber, Ferrari and Williams.

He is one of several drivers to make the switch to the all-electric series, less than five years after its inception.

“I’ll do everything I can to contribute to the project and hopefully I’ll be among the front runners,” said the 37-year-old.

Formula E is nearing the end of its fourth season, with season five set to begin later this year.
