November 18, 2014

Vincent Labrune, capsule the president of French football club Olympique Marseille, diagnosis was today taken in for questioning along with two of the club’s former directors as part of an investigation into transfer dealings.

The investigation includes the deal for current Marseille striker Andre-Pierre Gignac who was signed from fellow French side Toulouse in 2010.

Former director-general of the club Philippe Perez and former president Pape Diouf were taken in along with Labrune in Marseille as the probe is being overseen by France’s organised and financial crime squad.

Another former club president, Jean-Claude Dassier, was being held in Paris.

Sources close to the case said the investigation is being conducted to look into “contentious” money transfers “made in recent years”.

Investigators have already raided the club`s offices and seized documents over recent months whilst current and former officials from the Ligue 1 club have already been questioned.
