Marseille Confirm Orange Deal
December 5, 2014
French Ligue side Olympique de Marseille have agreed a three-year partnership with telecommunications giants Orange, who become the official partner of the club’s newly refurbished Stade Velodrome.
The partnership does not include the renaming of Marseille’s venue in the name of the brand as is the case for clubs such as Manchester City and Arsenal in England and Bayern and Dortmund in Germany.
The brand will however be visible inside the stadium.
Under the terms of the deal, the company will have privileged access to various facilities for all types of events.
Speaking to La Provence, Orange Sud-Est CEO Patrick Figuères said “We become the first official partner of the stadium.
“We have been the club’s partner for thirteen years already, but we want to mark our footprint on this symbolic city.
“The Stade Velodrome is an institution. Associating our name to it is key to our strategy.”
