The Head of Business Analytics & Insights will be responsible for leading a world class team of high performing data analysts, data scientists, market research analysts and visualization engineers that provides insights to support enterprise initiatives. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Drive a deeper understanding of our fans, partners, and business and serve as a trusted partner that provides data-driven insights to inform strategy and aid in decision making
  • Partner with key stakeholders (including Ticketing, Partnerships, Marketing, Finance, Guest Services, Venue Services, Retail, Ballpark Operations and Technology) to meet analytical needs and continuously improve our insight-creation capabilities
  • Build insights at scale – elevating our foundational data systems and analytics to allow for faster, better, and more systematic insights
  • Identify and champion new analytics and research opportunities that improve the quality and effectiveness of reporting and insights throughout the organization
  • Turn business opportunities into the right research questions; pursue and guide the best research approach including qualitative and quantitative insight programs that will create excellent
  • Establish processes that promote the dissemination, usage and adoption of analytics and research insights across the organization
  • Create an analytics-driven business culture that enables the team to work cross-functionally on key business initiatives and strategies
  • Train business users of various skill sets to enable ‘self-service’ analytics; advocate for data-driven decision and frameworks via empowerment of data usage across the business
  • Partner with Data Engineering and Technology Infrastructure teams to develop standards and processes around data governance, quality and accessibility to address the self-service needs of business users
  • Set objectives and success metrics for the Business Analytics & Insights function and strive to exceed them

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in a quantitative field (Business, Math/ Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or similar); Masters, preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in insights and analytics required
  • 5+ years in a business or executive management role
  • Experience with advanced analytics using large and complex datasets and platforms (SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Cloud, etc.), including model development/data science
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic and analytical leadership in a proactive manner
  • Executive presence on high-level meetings. Credible functional expertise in predictive analytics
  • Demonstrated success in creating measurable business benefit for analytics while interacting with many stakeholders in a complex organization
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, listening and teamwork skills, and effective presentation skills.
  • Proven relationship builder based upon trust, respect, effective communication, and achievement of common goals; experience in identifying potential needs and opportunities and in fostering collaboration and support
  • Moves groups to consensus and resolves conflicts; exhibits willingness to have difficult conversations
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and delegation skills
  • Experience with budget management
  • Sport business industry knowledge preferred

Marketing Manager, Games and VR – MLB

Major League Baseball’s Games & VR Group was founded in 2014 to bring incredible gaming experiences to baseball fans across platforms and genres. From MLB The Show, to Home Run Derby VR, MLB Games & VR is uniquely positioned as a wholly integrated games publisher and developer inside the League, with a robust team managing a range of marketing and publishing functions.


We are seeking an experienced video games professional with a passion for sports, media, and technology to drive revenue and engagement for our console, mobile, and VR titles. The Marketing Manager will interface with stakeholders from a broad range of disciplines inside the league, and in partner organizations to drive excitement around baseball’s core gaming franchises.


Job Summary


Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing in MLB’s New York headquarters, the Marketing Manager will play a central role in developing strategy and execution of league-run marketing initiatives for MLB’s owned and licensed products including MLB The Show, Home Run Derby Mobile, Home run Derby VR and more.


This role will partner with other talented marketers contributing to our campaigns, including directly owning individual marketing programs, and partnership with league marketing leaders, and partner review of externally licensed products.


Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative marketing campaigns and executions for MLB Games & VR products, including brand ID, website, packaging, PR/gameplay assets and advertising
  • Manage and direct internal resources and external vendors to successfully to support asset development across categories
  • Deploy, evaluate and optimize media/UA campaign performance on an ongoing basis by analyzing key metrics throughout the conversion funnel to deliver ROI goals
  • Manage relationships with first parties including asset submissions, platform marketing, and promotions
  • Work effectively with internal teams including Social, Communications, AdOps, , Web & Editorial to ensure seamless execution of campaigns and initiatives
  • Create, proofread, and edit copy for key marketing channels, ensuring consistent and engaging voice
  • Manage product budgets, revenue reporting and business intelligence in conjunction with internal teams
  • Work with key License partners to support publishing/marketing efforts across platforms and channels
  • Work closely with the events team to plan and support event executions at Baseball’s “Jewel Events” and other gaming, music and lifestyle events around the world
  • Ensure continuous brand alignment MLB Brand Marketing directives and priorities.


Qualifications

  • 3+ years of direct experience in video game marketing/publishing
  • Experience with brand management best practices and a suite of tools to successfully bring a game to market
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Editorial or copy-writing experience a major plus
  • Ability to synthesize analytics, data reporting, and customer insights into successful marketing strategies
  • Understanding of game and web development, video production, asset creation
  • Excellent business acumen, problem solving capabilities, and a practical approach to getting things done
  • Experienced user of major social media platforms and experience with social media publishing & tracking tools
  • Understanding of consumer facing events and ability to support live event production (including trade shows, live events, and interactive)

Senior Manager, Digital, MiLB Business Operations – MLB

Major League Baseball is seeking a Senior Manager in the MiLB Business Operations group to support digital production and publishing efforts across an ecosystem that includes the MiLB.com portal, Minor League club sites, mobile applications and other services. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in consumer-facing content management, production and product development for an online media outlet.


As the Senior Manager, Digital, you will work closely with other departments and functions within the MiLB Business Operations group and across MLB to identify, plan and execute projects and product enhancements to continuously improve our platforms and processes in service of our Clubs and fans.


Essential Functions

  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge of MLB platforms, tools and processes
  • Manage a portfolio of projects and track progress through design, development, testing, launch, maintenance, review and enhancements
  • Keep schedules and issue tracking systems up to date
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts across various business, content and technical teams

As a Director, Club Marketing you will work with assigned Major League Baseball Club personnel and internal departments within Major League Baseball to implement and optimize the overall performance of MLB Marketing Initiatives at the local level as well as Club initiatives to grow the game of baseball through both digital and non-digital consumer touchpoints.

  • Acts as a primary liaison between assigned Clubs, MLB Marketing personnel, and various MLB business stakeholders
