Basketball England is seeking a new Chair to lead the national governing body for the sport.
The successful candidate will succeed Matt Neville, who oversaw a challenging but successful period for basketball, which included Team England winning gold and silver medals for 3×3 at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games and reforms to improve safeguarding, player welfare and integrity services.
Basketball England is the NGB for the country’s second-biggest team sport with more than 1.4million regular participants per year and a range of leagues, competitions and programmes.
The new Chair will be experienced, committed and capable of bringing authentic, supportive leadership and have the passion, skills and connections to drive the development and inclusive growth of basketball across England. They should be able to reflect, represent and champion the basketball community we serve.
The Chair will help set the vision, strategy and objectives for BE’s governance of the most diverse, exciting sport in the country. They will lead the board of directors and support Chief Executive Officer Stewart Kellett and his team to deliver the best possible service for the organisation’s members and to represent the wider game.

CEO Stewart Kellett said: “We are seeking a leader who can support Basketball England to work through the biggest change in its history to adapt to the social, financial and technological changes affecting the game and our business.
“The expectations on governing bodies have heightened considerably in recent years, alongside the need to tackle inequalities. We are in a strong position to address this.
“To achieve more for our community, we want we want to create a change of state in our resource base for us and the game and recognition of the inherent value that basketball offers to the nation and the communities that need support.”
