Table Tennis England is seeking to strengthen and diversify its Board with two exceptional individuals who wish to serve as Board appointed NEDs and support the direction for the next phase of our development.

The successful candidates will join the Table Tennis England Board at an exciting time. Digital Engagement Executive – Table Tennis England

Title: Digital Engagement Executive

Remuneration: £26k – £30k depending on experience

Location: Negotiable attendance in our Milton Keynes HQ. This role will require occasional national
travel and weekend work

OVERVIEW:


Table Tennis England is seeking a dynamic and innovative Digital Engagement Executive to join our
Engagement team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and enhancing our digital
presence across various platforms, ensuring effective audience engagement, and supporting our
overall digital engagement strategy.

ROLE PURPOSE:


As a vital member of Table Tennis England, the Digital Engagement Executive plays a crucial role in
driving our mission to connect and energize the table tennis community. Your work will be central to our
commitment to expanding the sport’s reach, deepening engagement with our current audiences, and
attracting new enthusiasts to table tennis.
In this role, you will:

  • Lead the charge in enhancing participation, engagement, and retention through innovative
    CRM strategies, social media campaigns, and web initiatives.
  • Support with the delivery of our digital engagement strategy that aligns with our overarching
    goals, focusing on community building, audience growth, and increased interaction across all
    digital platforms.
  • Utilize your expertise in content creation and audience engagement to foster a vibrant, inclusive,
    and dynamic online presence that reflects the spirit and values of Table Tennis England.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure cohesive and effective
    digital campaigns that resonate with our diverse audience and uphold our brand standards.

Video Content Creator – Table Tennis England

Title: Video Content Creator
Status: Full-time, permanent
Remuneration: £23k – £28k depending on experience

Reporting into: Digital Engagement Manager

Location: Negotiable, this role will require frequent travel nationally and will involve weekend work

ROLE PURPOSE:


This is an important and very visible role within the organisation, supporting us to fulfil our Pledge to create greater connectivity across our community, making table tennis more visible to fans, inspiring our audience and showcasing the sport.


Your focus will be on creating exciting
and engaging video content aimed at
both our existing audience and a new
fan base, in England, Great Britain and
abroad. You will lead on the live streaming
and content creation from key table
tennis events across the country. This
will therefore require you to work some
evenings and weekends when the majority
of events take place and be able to travel
nationally.
You will work closely with our partners
Joymo who provide the platform for TTE.
TV, our production partners, freelance staff
and, key stakeholders such as our Senior
British League Premier Clubs, WTT and the
ETTU. You will also need to develop trusted
and close relationships internally with our
events team, our senior and pathway
England players, coaches and support
staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DELIVERABLES:


•Working with the Digital Engagement Manager
to create a TTE.TV Content Plan
•Execution of the TTE.TV Content Plan including;

  • Delivering high quality live streamed
    content of TTE hosted events, working
    with venue partners to ensure the
    technical infrastructure to enable this and
    production partners as relevant
  • Working with players, clubs, coaches,
    content collaborators and other partners
    and stakeholders to organise and create
    high quality video content, including high
    quality live streaming
    •Working with colleagues to utilise all of the
    TTE digital channels and technology to market
    TTE.TV and drive engagement on the platform.
    •Adapting and repurposing content
    and communications to enable greater
    engagement
    •Working with the Senior Designer to create
    graphics, infographics, imagery, and other
    digital assets to support content ideas
    •Contribute to enhancing brand perception
    and sport presentation through relevant
    work, ensuring great customer experience,
    functionality and reputation

Chair – Table Tennis England

The Board is seeking an individual with outstanding leadership skills and achievement, with the passion and commitment to devote to the Board and stakeholders at this exciting time for the sport, representing Table Tennis England at a variety of levels ranging from local clubs and leagues through  to the funding bodies, government, Great Britain Table Tennis, the European Table Tennis Union, and the International Table Tennis Federation. 

The successful candidate will Chair a Board of similarly committed non-executive Directors and work closely with the Chief Executive. The Chair will also have a close  relationship with the Company Members, including the National Council which plays a  key role in communication between the board and the membership. 

The ideal candidate is likely to have strong experience gained in a similar role within  the sport sector, not for profit or wider corporate sectors. 

Experience of working in an organisation that has a membership would also be  helpful. In addition, this person is likely to have experience as a Trustee or Non Executive Director with a strong understanding of risk and governance together with  a collaborative approach and desire to bring their skills and commitment to further  develop table tennis across the country at grass roots and performance level and  ensuring our sport remains inclusive to all. 

This position has a 4 year period of office and that can be renewed for one further 4  year cycle. 

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:

• Senior leaders at Sport England, UK Sport and Commonwealth Games England • International Table Tennis Federation and WTT

Key responsibilities will include: 

• Chair the Board meetings in a manner that encourages participation and  information sharing while moving the Board toward consensus and prudent decision  making 

• Ensure the most effective use of the skills and experience of Board Members, and  shape the development of the Board and its overall effectiveness 

• Ensure a positive and collaborative relationship with the Chief Executive, acting as a  sounding board on emerging issues and a support or challenge when necessary 

• Lead objective setting and performance review of the Chief Executive and the  Board in line with the Code for Sports Governance 

• Ensure investment into table tennis is aligned to the pledges and objectives of Table  Tennis United 

• Ensure effective relationships with the Members and other key stakeholders,  Including the Company Members, to deliver Table Tennis England’s strategic  priorities effectively and efficiently 

• Drive and influence the highest standards of governance and decision making to  enable Table Tennis England to be a high performing governing body 

• To represent Table Tennis England domestically and internationally at relevant events  in agreement with the Chief Executive and in coordination with other members of  the Board or the President of the organisation who may also represent Table Tennis  England at events

All candidates must have (and will need to demonstrate in their  application) the following essential criteria: 

• A leader; someone with a proven ability to Chair and lead the Board evidenced by  relevant Chair, INED or Trustee experience 

• Outstanding vision and judgement to provide clarity of direction and enable the  Board to fulfil the overall governance of the organisation 

• A proven track record of strategic leadership in sport, business, or public service, and  an ability to embrace the diversity of thought and those involved in table tennis and  the wider sporting community 

• Demonstrate a commitment to outstanding governance and track record of leading  high performance organisations 

• A clear understanding of the structure of British sport 

• Excellent communication and presentational skills, and an inclusive leadership style  that commands respect through genuine collaboration and partnership 

• Strong external stakeholder management skills, able to build relationships at all levels,  domestically and internationally 

• Excellent interpersonal skills and a manner that would engage the Board, staff,  volunteer structure and membership 

• A passion for, and commitment to equality and diversity and improving the lives of  anyone through sport and physical activity 

• A commitment to evidence-based practice and the ability to take a critical view of  innovations and provide informed challenge and drive value 

DESIRABLE CRITERIA: 

• A deep understanding of table tennis; the membership of the sport, the structures of  table tennis from grass roots through to performance 

• Understanding of how to engage with partners across the sport sector who can  support the delivery of Table Tennis United 

• Experience of systems / transformative change programmes would be helpful 

• Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of table tennis and its governance  both domestically and internationally 

• Understanding and experience of other bodies in the sports landscape including UK  Sport, Sport England, and the British Olympic Association 

• Strong commercial acumen with proven experience of implementing additional  revenue strategies across new and existing income streams. 

Head of Performance Development – Table Tennis England

This role is made for someone who is hungry, ambitious, driven and wanting to lead transformational change. Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games Project Manager – Table Tennis England

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 (full time equivalent)

Status: 1 year, part-time contract (20-24 hours per week, flexible hours available)

Location: Negotiable, with attendance in Head Office (Milton Keynes) and Birmingham and the West Midlands required 

Table Tennis England is the National Governing Body for table tennis in England and an equal opportunities employer. This exciting one-year post funded by the Sport England Digital and Innovation fund will manage and lead Table Tennis England’s work in the lead up to, during and post Birmingham 2022, a pinnacle event in the calendar and tremendous opportunity for the sport on many levels. There will be a particular focus for the postholder on creating a long-lasting legacy for table tennis and TTE from these ‘home games’.

The successful candidate will need to create close working relationships with a number of Table Tennis England colleagues and manage a portfolio of relationships with commissioned partners and agencies to ensure that individual projects are delivered within scope, on time and inside budget.
