Lyon to Host Europa League Final 2018

December 12, 2016

The French city of Lyon has been awarded hosting rights to the Europa League Final of 2018.

Europe’s secondary club competition, which has been won in each of the past three seasons by Spanish club Sevilla, will finish in Stockholm for the 2017 season.

Following a meeting of the UEFA Executive Committee in Switzerland, several key changes were confirmed to both the Champions League and Europa League; including an alteration to kick-off times meaning fans will be able to watch two Champions League matches back-to-back from 2018.

Meanwhile, there will also be substantial changes to club coefficient system used to distribute income between competitors in European competition.
