London Irish Appoint Jim O’Toole as Interim Commercial Director

London Irish has announced that Jim O’Toole has been appointed interim Commercial Director with immediate effect.

O’Toole is a sports industry specialist with over 20 years experience in global sports and entertainment management. A graduate of Surrey University, O’Toole brings with him a wide range of expertise in commercial, sponsorship, communications, HR, stakeholder management, media production and distribution and digital communications. 

London Irish Chief Executive Andy Martin said: “I am delighted that Jim will be joining London Irish. He has a proven track record in delivering both commercial and sponsorship global packages in the sporting arena. Jim’s vast experience will help to ensure the club continues to achieve its commercial objectives.”

Speaking about how the opportunity arose Jim O’Toole told iSportconnect: “The opportunity arose when Irish had a sudden senior resource need arise. I had met Andy Martin previously and my skillset fitted his need. I bring 20- years experience is sponsorship, client management and general sports marketing skills. It is my first rights holder role in rugby although I have worked on a variety of sponsor client projects in the past.”

O’Toole also added in a statement: “The London Irish brand has a rich history and traditions that enable the company to sit in a favourable commercial position.
