Liverpool and the Clipper Race to Present Case Studies at the Digital Media Masterclass
March 19, 2014
iSportconnect is proud to announce that industry experts from Liverpool Football Club and Clipper Ventures will present detailed case studies at the Digital Media Masterclass.
Paul Rogers, ambulance Head of International Digital Development for Liverpool and Jonathan Levy, Global Business and Communications Directors will present to delegates ahead of the panel discussion on April 3rd in London.
Paul plays a lead role in developing and implementing Liverpool’s international digital strategy. He strives to continuously improve the club’s fan engagement and supporter experience, whilst expanding their global fanbase. Paul’s case study will highlight how this has been achieved at one of the biggest football clubs in the world.
Jonathan’s main focus for Clipper Ventures is the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race, the world’s longest ocean adventure. He formerly owned an independent media company, with expertise in digital and interactive media. Jonathan will inform delegates of how digital media is transforming the Clipper Race and how niche sports like sailing can harness digital technology.
Levy commented: “A major global event such as the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race needs to take full advantage of digital media, not only for competitive advantage, but also to effectively manage communications with participants, partners, media and supporters. I’m looking forward to both sharing and learning experiences with counterparts in other sports at the iSportconnect Digital Media Masterclass.”
Rogers added: “Liverpool Football Club has millions of supporters all over the world but up until quite recently, our digital engagement with our international fan base was quite limited. However, over the last 15 months we have completely transformed how we interact with our supporters overseas and have achieved incredible success. At the iSportconnect Digital Media Masterclass, we’ll share what we’ve learnt along the way.”
Moderated by social media expert David Granger, the panel consists of Richard Clarke, Managing Editor at Arsenal FC, Jo Binding, the Head of Media at Manchester City Football Club and Mark Lichtenhein, CIO – Head of Television, Digital Media and Technology at PGA European Tour.
On the same day iSportconnect will host a Technology Directors Masterclass, in Association with LG Electronics, for delegates to learn about best practice in stadium technology. Panellists for that event include Daniel Marion, Head of ICT at UEFA, David Jones, Vice President of IT, Europe for AEG and Sanjeev Katwa, IT Director at City Football Group.
iSportconnect proudly announced LG Electronics as the title sponsor of the Technology Directors Masterclass earlier this week.
