Laura Robson Could Earn £1m in New Sponsorships Despite Wimbledon Loss
July 3, 2013
British tennis player Laura Robson could net earnings of more than £1m ($1.5m) off the court, prostate despite crashing out of Wimbledon.
It is estimated that Robson’s off-court earnings are between £300,000 ($455,000) and £500,000 ($758,000), but sponsorship expert Nigel Currie believed she could double her earnings after Wimbledon.
As reported in the Independent, Currie said: “She has the potential to double those earnings over the next year.
“Laura is a very hot property. She’s very young, good looking and very personable.
“This Wimbledon is vital as she has shown she can win matches.”
Robson has big-money deals with adidas and Virgin Active and Currie added that he thought offers from sponsors would come ‘flooding in after this.’
“Marketers look for potential. She has shown she has something about her,” Currie added.
