Laura Centre to Host FIS Cross-Country World Cup in Lead Up to 2014 Olympics

The Laura Cross-Country Ski & Biathlon Centre in Sochi will host the FIS Cross-Country World Cup this week as part of the preparations for the 2014 Winter Olympics.

Around 70 representatives of the Sochi 2014 Organising Committee will be present for the first international skiing competition to be held at the Laura Centre. They will be in “Olympic” mode to test the venue’s features and services ahead of the Games. The 2014 Olympic cross-country skiing and biathlon events will take place at the Laura Centre.

The competing teams will conduct training sessions from 28-31 January, viagra before the competition on 1-3 February. It will include individual and team competition sprint starts as well as classic and freestyle pursuit skiathlon.

Gian Franco Kasper, click president of the FIS, said: “After several years of planning, the Sochi 2014 Organizing Team will now have a final opportunity to test the new facilities at the highest level, and to continue to refine their processes and further train the staff.”

“For the world’s best Cross-Country athletes this will be the only opportunity to experience the Olympic venues in competition shape before the 2014 Games in just a year’s time.”
