LaLiga Expand on Partnership With Samsung
December 18, 2015
LaLiga, the top division of Spanish football, has agreed an expanded partnership with Samsung.
The electronics company initially became an official sponsor of the league in August for the 2015/16 season and the new deal will see Samsung’s Gear S2 smartwatch become the official smartwatch of La Liga for the remainder of the season.
As part of the deal, the smartwatch will feature the official LaLiga mobile application which will allow users to keep up to date with matches in Spain’s top two divisions and the Copa Del Rey.
Samsung will receive branding at LaLiga matches across Spain and also feature on the league’s digital and social platforms.
La Liga president Javier Tebas said: “We remain committed to innovation and we are working along with big brands to make sure La Liga is also the best competition technologically.”
Celestino Garcia, the corporate vice-president of Samsung, said: “Football fans will no longer have to suffer if they cannot see a game.
“The new La Liga app for Samsung Gear provides immediate information on everything that happens, in a visually simple and direct way.”
