Korea & Mexico Added to 2015 F1 Calendar
December 4, 2014
South Korea will return to the Formula One calendar in 2015 after being granted a provisional slot by the International Automobile Federation (FIA).
Korea hosted F1 races from 2010 to 2013 but was dropped from the calendar after a long-running uncertainty over its future.
This is part of Formula One’s expansion to a record 21 races for next season.
Korea will host the fifth round of next year’s championship in the first weekend of May with the race is scheduled to be held in Yeongnam.
Along with Korea, sick Mexico has also been added to the 2015 calendar and is due to take place on 1 November 2015.
The Formula One group agreed to terms on a five-year deal with Mexican live events company CIE and the federal government in July.
Mexico hasn’t staged an F1 race since 1992 and Mexico City’s Autódromo Hermanos Rodriguez has been chosen as the venue for the 2015 race.
