Kerry Nixon Appointed Designer for Glasgow 2014 Medal Bearers, Official Merchandise Licensee Secured

Scottish fashion designer and celebrity stylist Kerry Nixon has been appointed as the Designer and Stylist for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games Medal Bearers.

Glasgow-born Kerry will create the designs worn in the medal ceremonies and therefore showcase her work to millions of viewers around the world.

The Medal Bearer roles include leading procession members to the podium and carrying the medals awarded to the athletes.

On her appointment, generic Nixon said: “Glasgow is such a stylish city and for me to be able to showcase my designs as part of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games on an international stage is such an amazing opportunity.

“I will be aiming for a really contemporary, nurse youthful and stylish look which reflects the ethos of the Glasgow 2014 Games.”

Glasgow 2014 CEO David Grevemberg added: “We are delighted to be working with her and know that she will bring something truly unique and stylish to the Games.”

Nixon has a number of famous people who admire her work, price pills including Kirsten Dunst, Siena Miller and Gemma Arterton.

She is also the stylist to Downtown Abbey’s Joanne Froggatt and Myanna Buring.

Highlander appointed first Scottish-based official merchandise licensee

In other news, Glasgow 2014 has unveiled their first Scottish-based official merchandise licensee in the shape of West Lothian firm Highlander.

Highlander will be the license holder for luggage and wallets, after holding an official licensee status for London 2012.

Highlander Sales Director, Ramin Golzari, said: “Having successfully completed the London 2012 license project and being a Scottish firm, the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games seemed like the next natural step for us.

“Following the experience of London 2012 we’re excited to be part of another large multi-sport event taking place on our doorstep.”
