March 7, 2013

The United States Olympic Committee has announced that The J.M. Smucker Company will be an official sponsor of the 2014 and 2016 U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Teams in Sochi, Russia, and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Four brands – Smucker’s, Folgers, Jif, and Smucker’s Uncrustables Sandwiches – will activate within the following product categories: packaged fruit and nut spreads, packaged ground or whole bean coffee, and packaged refrigerated/frozen hand-held sandwiches.

“We have always taken great pride in the athletes that strive to represent the United States in the Olympic Games and are truly honored to have this opportunity to help support their dreams,” said Richard Smucker, Chief Executive Officer of The J.M. Smucker Company. “At Smucker our purpose is to help bring families together for memorable moments, and these gifted athletes do exactly the same thing for the entire country with their hard work, determination and, ultimately, unforgettable performances on the world stage.”

Smucker’s sponsorship of the USOC is effective immediately.

“We’re proud to welcome The J.M. Smucker Company and its acclaimed lineup of brands to the U.S. Olympic family and to our steadfast roster of USOC sponsors – the team behind the team,” said Scott Blackmun, Chief Executive Officer of the USOC. “This partnership provides America’s athletes with valuable support and resources, affording them greater focus toward achieving their lifelong goal of representing the United States at the Olympic Games.”

In addition to financial support, all Smucker participating brands will provide athletes and coaches at the U.S. Olympic Training Centers and additional team venues with a variety of delicious food products on a daily basis.
