JJB Sports Named Official Retail Partner Irish Football Association

July 18, 2012

JJB Sports has pledged to support Northern Irish football in the run up to the 2014 World Cup, drugs after becoming the official retail partner for the Irish Football Association.

The authentic sports retailer, which has thirteen stores in the province, will sell the new branded Adidas kit with exclusive ranges and an exclusive range of leisurewear and accessories.

JJB Sports will continue to support Northern Irish football both nationally and internationally, and will also sponsor the prestigious Irish Cup for the next four seasons. Last year’s winners Linfield FC compete in this season’s UEFA Champions League after their successful 2011/12 season, completing the League and Cup double.

The brand new Northern Ireland strip manufactured by Adidas for the first time in 25 years will be sold in JJB Sports stores across the country and online. This new kit will feature the famous green and white stripes when they play teams such as Portugal and Russia in their FIFA World Cup qualification group, ahead of the tournament in Brazil in 2014.

JJB Sports Divisional Sales Manager for Ireland, Michael Kennedy said: “We’re delighted that JJB Sports is renewing its support and strategic partnership with the Irish Football Association as the Official Retail Partner of the new Adidas Kit.  This is further underpinned by the continued sponsorship of the JJB Sports Irish FA Cup; an incredible Cup competition for teams across Northern Ireland. The new Adidas Northern Ireland home kit will be available to pre order from all JJB Sports stores and online from 19 July.  We will also be stocking the new away kit, training range and exclusive leisure products for all Northern Ireland supporters to cheer on Michael O’Neill’s team in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.”

Irish FA Head of Marketing and Communications, Geoff Wilson added: “The Irish FA is pleased to announce that it has agreed a four year extension to its contract with JJB Sports – with the company continuing as the official retail partner of the Association, looking after both the online shop and in store.

“The extension of the contract has come about due to a great existing relationship between the Irish FA and JJB Sports and shows how a partnership can blossom for the benefit of both parties.”
