JetBlue Airways has agreed a partnership deal with the Barclays Center arena which also sees them partner with National Basketball Association (NBA) team the Brooklyn Nets and National Hockey League (NHL) franchise the New York Islanders.

The Brooklyn Nets currently play their home matches at the Barclays Center but the Islanders will move to the area for the 2015-16 season.

The New York-based airline becomes the official domestic airline partner of the Barclays Center, the Nets and the Islanders and will benefit from extensive branding around the court at all arena events and Nets home games and a social media presence.

Through their partnership with the Nets, JetBlue will become the first partner to receive permanent signage behind the scorer’s table

“As New York’s hometown airline, it is only fitting that we partner with New York’s newest sports arena – Barclays Center,” said Lisa Borromeo, JetBlue’s director of brand management and advertising.

“At JetBlue, caring, passion and fun are some of our core values.  Through our partnership with Barclays Center, we look forward to feeding our customer’s passion for sports and the best entertainment.  We will also partner with the Brooklyn Nets and the New York Islanders to bring our caring value to life by directly impacting the local community.”

Barclays Center and Brooklyn Nets chief executive Brett Yormark said: “We are delighted to continue welcoming JetBlue passengers to Barclays Center for world class sports and entertainment, and are looking forward to the Islanders landing in Brooklyn with JetBlue, one of the most innovative and transformative New York City-based businesses.”

JetBlue is the first partner of the Islanders in Brooklyn and the agreement includes a television visible dasherboard, presenting sponsorship rights for one game per season, strategic branding and signage at the arena and under the rink and social media assets.
