Jacksonville Jaguars and Winn-Dixie End Partnership
July 17, 2013
The Jacksonville Jaguars and grocery, discount Winn-Dixie, sale have decided against renewing their sponsorship agreement which officially ended with the end of the football season, pilule the Jacksonville Business Journal reports.
The Jaguars are expected to announce a new sponsor in the coming weeks to replace Winn-Dixie, which was a sponsor of the Florida football team on-and-off since 1995.
Brian Wright, a Winn-Dixie spokesman, said of the dissolution of the partnership: “It was not a snap decision. Both parties decided not to continue the sponsorship.”
Jaguars spokesman, Dan Edwards, confirmed the partnership had ended but declined to give any further explanation.
Bi-Lo LLC bought Winn-Dixie last year and moved their headquarters to Jacksonville. Winn-Dixie has also since become a tailgate sponsor for the Florid State Seminoles.
