British broadcaster ITV has secured new free to air coverage rights to Roland Garros until 2018.

The channel, which has held the rights to show the tennis Grand Slam tournament since 2012, will now continue its coverage from 2015 to 2018 under the agreement.

ITV will continue to broadcast comprehensive coverage each year, with a guaranteed minimum of 90 hours devoted to each tournament across its main channel and ITV4. The action will also be available on the ITV Player.

Niall Sloane, ITV’s Director of Sport said: “We’re delighted to able to continue our association with this fantastic Grand Slam tournament and to bring, free to air to viewers, full coverage of a fortnight of elite level tennis from Paris for the next four years.”

Maria Sharapova won the Womens event this year while Rafael Nadal picked up another grand slam in the mens competition.
