ITU Appoints Arimany as New Director General

November 13, 2013

Antonio Fernandez Arimany has been installed as the new Director General of the International Triathlon Union (ITU).

Arimany has been the ITU Legal, Finance and Administrative Director since 2010 and will start his new role on December 1.

In Arimany’s new role, he will act as the top administrator and manager of ITU. In this position, he will work with the Executive Board to set the strategic direction of ITU and will report directly to the ITU President, Marisol Casado.

Casado, who is also an IOC Member commented: “While we interviewed excellent candidates for the position, Antonio’s extensive experience in the Olympic movement combined with his knowledge of triathlon, as well as expertise in finance and law, made him an excellent choice for the position.

“I’m confident Antonio will continue to positively impact ITU, as he has already done in the last three years.”
