Italian Open to Relocate to Turin
January 26, 2017
The Italian Open golf tournament will relocate from Rome to Turin for the 2017 edition, the Italian Golf Federation (FIG) have announced.
The 2017 Italian Open will mark its first edition with a €7m ($7.5m) prize purse under a contract agreed with the European Tour that will maintain this level for the next 10 years.
In December 2015, it was announced that Rome had beaten a number of prominent European cities to land hosting rights for the 2022 Ryder Cup. It will be the first time Italy have hosted the event, and the third time the Ryder Cup has taken place in Europe.
The bi-yearly Ryder Cup sees America’s best golfers take on the best of Europe.
