November 26, 2015
The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has confirmed a deal with Toyota to become a Worldwide Paralympic Partner in the mobility category through to 2024.
Under the terms of the category agreement which covers vehicles, diagnosis mobility services and mobility solutions, ampoule Toyota rights will include the IPC, all National Paralympic Committees (NPC) from 2017 and future Games Organising Committees from Tokyo 2020.
“This is a monumental day for the entire Paralympic Movement as it is the first truly worldwide partnership to involve the IPC, every single NPC and forthcoming editions of the Paralympic Games,” said IPC President Sir Philip Craven.
“We are very excited about our long-term partnership with Toyota as we share similar values and a passion that mobility for all drives social inclusion.”
Toyota President Akio Toyoda said: “We at Toyota share the IPC’s commitment to help create a society where we all have access to the same opportunities.
“Sir Philip has noted the importance of mobility in promoting social participation for people with an impairment. Through the Paralympic Games, we want to make the power of mobility and the power of sport available to all.”
Toyota will be the IPC’s sixth Worldwide Paralympic Partner joining the likes of Atos, Ottobock, Panasonic, Samsung and Visa.
