Infiniti Get Title Sponsorship Rights to F1 Champions Red Bull Racing

Newly crowned Formula One Constructor’s world champions, Red Bull will have a new name from 2013, becoming officially Infiniti Red Bull Racing as of the start of next season, after an expansion to its partnership with the Japanese car manufacturer.

The new deal sees the Nissan subsidiary premium brand sign a four-year extension to the partnership originally established between the two companies in March 2011, with both sides happy at the mutual benefits that the partnership has given the two companies over the last two years.

“Infiniti has demonstrated significant technical prowess and I’ve been impressed by the depth of the wider engineering capabilities of the Nissan Motor Company,” said Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner, who added that he had been impressed at how well the manufacturer had built on the partnership to boost its own marketing and brand awareness.

“Infiniti has leveraged their involvement with Red Bull Racing and F1 extremely effectively to become much better known in a short space of time,” Pointed out Horner. “These two attributes make Infiniti the ideal title and technical partner forRed Bull Racing.”

Infiniti’s president Johan de Nysschen was equally delighted with the confirmation that the partnership would be extended through to the end of the 2016 season and also add the team naming rights to the arrangement.

“While our first 24-months have been very beneficial to both parties, our new increased relationship will bring increased advantages to Infiniti and Red BullRacing,” de Nysschen said. “As title sponsor, Infiniti Red Bull Racing will help us garner even more worldwide exposure for our brand, products and technology.”

The new arrangement means that as well as a commercial alliance between the team and the manufacturer, there will also be a new technological focus to the partnership. Red Bull Racing’s Chief Technical Officer Adrian Newey sais that the new arrangement with Infiniti will contribute much to his own department’s work within the team.

“F1 presents immense design and engineering challenges on a daily basis,” Newey explained. “Having a committed technical partner like Infiniti gives us a great platform for working together on technical projects, such as the Energy Recovery Systems for the 2014 season.”
