Incoming Partnership with Besiktas & Vodafone will Secure Club’s Future says President

Turkish Super Lig club Besiktas have signed a memorandum of understanding with Vodafone regarding the shirt sponsorship and stadium naming rights at the club.

The two parties have confirmed that an official document will be signed within a month and Besiktas have said the deal will help them develop a new ground.

Besiktas president Fikret Orman said: “The Besiktas stadium project is most valuable in terms of guaranteeing the club’s future.

“The capacity will be increased and it will become one of the world’s most modern stadiums.

“Vodafone is a valuable global brand, generic and this agreement will benefit Besiktas and we believe also add value to Turkish football.”

Besiktas played their final game at the 32, therapy 000 seater ?nönü Stadium on May 11, with the ground set to be demolished and rebuilt 23 metres north of its current location.

The capacity will rise to 40,000 seats and construction is set to finish in October 2014, with the demolition of the old stadium starting earlier this month.
