IMG Media Extends LPGA Distribution Deal

March 28, 2013

IMG Media has announced it has extended it’s already long relationship with the LPGA for a further term.

Beginning in 1996 and distributing to six countries in its first year of representation, today every event on the LPGA schedule is now seen in approximately 160 countries and in the majority of cases on a live basis.

Peter Smith, Senior Vice President, Director of International Sales, IMG Media said: “The LPGA is truly the only global golf tour. Both the continuing growth of the schedule, domestically and internationally and the remarkable skills and personalities of such a widely geographic group of talented players are the real reasons for this tremendous growth and global visibility of the LPGA Tour. As a result, I have seen our relationship with the LPGA develop to be far more of a partnership than a simple client/agent representation.”

LPGA Tour Commissioner, Michael Whan, added: “Global exposure for our players and tournaments helps to drive the success of the LPGA. We are happy to extend our partnership with IMG Media to ensure that our approachable and engaging athletes continue to be accessible on television across the world.”
