IBU Hands Russian Body Deadline For Doping Allegations
January 23, 2017
The International Biathlon Union (IBU) has opened a formal investigation into the Russian Biathlon Union.
A total of 29 Russian athletes were placed under investigation last month following the McLaren Report alleging a systematic doping program in Russian athletics, with 22 having been cleared due a lack of evidence.
However, the remaining seven athletes have not been exonerated to date, and the IBU have handed the Russian Biathlon Union a deadline of February 9 to provide a detailed report on what role the remaining athletes played in the doping enquiry.
