Hyundai Secures Partnerships With Vikings and Steelers to Expand NFL Presence
December 10, 2015
Japanese car manufacturer Hyundai has agreed sponsorship deals with National Football League (NFL) franchises the Minnesota Vikings and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
With the Vikings, Hyundai will be the naming rights sponsor for the “Hyundai Club” at the team’s new U.S. Bank Stadium, which opens in August 2016.
Hyundai’s presence with the Vikings also goes online with social and digital assets, including pre-roll commercials on Vikings.com.
With the Steelers, Hyundai will have naming rights of the “Hyundai Club West” at Heinz Field. Hyundai also will be featured on LED and video boards throughout the stadium, and in digital and social assets for the Steelers.
The automaker will have two vehicles on display at all Vikings home games and one vehicle on display at all Steelers home games the rest of the season. Furthermore, Hyundai will be giving away co-branded Hyundai merchandise to Vikings and Steelers fans at games. The company will also be running local advertising on TV and radio in both markets.
“Hyundai is not only connecting with football fans at a national level, but in the community where fans really show their passion,” said Trea Reedy, senior group manager, experiential marketing, Hyundai Motor America.
“Both Minnesota and Pittsburgh have dedicated and loyal fan bases and by partnering with them we are able to strengthen our footprints in those markets and drive traffic to our dealers.”
Vikings Owner/President Mark Wilf said: “We’re excited to include Hyundai as part of the new and improved game experience beginning in 2016.”
