Huggity Wins ‘Innovation in Sponsorship’ Award

The Huggity team were celebrating on Wednesday night as they won the ‘Innovation in Sponsorship’ award at the Irish Sponsorship Awards, see held in Dublin. The fan engagement specialists beat off stiff competition to lift the award, which recognised the innovative work the company has been producing with their FanPic application, specifically for their campaign with clients, eircom, for the GAA All-Ireland Football Senior Championship Semi Final and Final this summer.

The Irish Sponsorship Awards are held annually and recognise achievements in the sponsorship industry from brands, teams, agencies and service providers over the course of the year. Huggity were joined by other winners such as Allianz, FleishmanHilard, Heineken, O2 and many more.

The judges comments about Huggity’s FanPic were as follows, “The judges loved this idea – it really linked into the fan’s desire to share their experiences at the matches. They also felt the team had found a new way of using social networking channels to build the sponsors brand.”

CEO and founder, Mike SIkorski, was delighted to accept the award alongside Richard Wheatley, CCO, and said

“We are absolutely thrilled to receive this award. We strive to deliver the most innovative technology to our clients and constantly look to deliver fans of sport and music the best experience possible.

Innovation is all well and good to consistently deliver but without the forward thinking nature of each and every one of our clients, our application would never have been given an opportunity in the first place. It shows the willingness of both the sport and music industry to adapt to new technologies and utilise them to activate their sponsorship online.

Therefore, this award not only goes to our team at HuggityHQ but also to every client that has allowed us to get to this point. None more so than our clients eircom and Vizeum who this award belongs to just as much as it does to us.”

It was also a great night for another of Huggity’s clients Aviva who picked up the ‘Best Grass Roots Sponsorship’ award for their hands on involvement with the FAI Junior Cup.
