GB Hockey Appoints Williams As Head Of Talent Development

Great Britain Hockey has appointed Heather Williams as their Head of Elite Talent Development.
In her new role, Williams will be responsible for delivering the ‘Podium Potential’ initiative and developing the recently formed GB Elite Development Programme (EDP).
She previously worked as Performance Director at British Triathlon and Talent Pathway Manager at British Canoeing.
Performance Director at GB Hockey, Ed Barney, said of the appointment: “Following an extensive and world-wide search, I’m delighted that Heather is joining the performance team at England and Great Britain Hockey. Heather brings a wealth of experience, huge acumen and I’m sure Heather will be an asset to the organisation over the coming years.
“It’s exciting to have someone join from outside hockey and team sport and I’m sure that the experience Heather brings from previous sports, will lead to significant evolution and performance impact over the coming years. One area that Heather will be focusing on heavily is the evolution and progress of our performance domestic game and relationship with clubs – this will be an exciting area to watch.”
