Head of Sport – UNICEF

November 4, 2016

Location: London, medic UK

Closing date: 11th November 2016, 5 pm

Overview:

Unicef ensures more of the world’s children are vaccinated, educated and protected than any other organisation. We have done more to influence laws and policies to help protect children than anyone else. We get things done. And we’re not going to stop until the world is a safe place for all our children.

Unicef UK is the leading UK charity working in, around and through sport to achieve positive change for children. The Sports Team is actively developing and expanding partnerships in sport, that involve fundraising, communications, advocacy and programmes. The team works strategically across Unicef UK to leverage experience and activate networks within the sports industry and Sport for Development sectors.

As Head of Sport, you will be responsible for all aspects of sport at Unicef UK, leading a high performing multidisciplinary team with a wide portfolio of activity. You will establish the most efficient and strategic way to engage all teams at Unicef UK with the opportunity sport provides, work with colleagues across the global Unicef family and drive forward new and existing partnerships.

To succeed in this role, you will have significant experience in high-level fundraising (whether corporate partnerships, individual major donors or trusts and foundations) and have a strong understanding of sports industry – including sponsorship, licensing and major sports events.  You will bring with you, an extensive network, broad understanding and insight across commercial and grassroots sport and you will be at home with innovation in order to continue Unicef UK‘s history of creating ‘firsts’ in sport.

This is a fantastic opportunity to use your knowledge and expertise in sports and Sport for Development, to create powerful change and generate the best outcomes for children.
