Riot Games was established in 2006 by entrepreneurial gamers who believe that player-focused game development can result into genre-defining games. Back in 2009, that vision gave birth to our debut title League of Le gends, which achieved critical acclaim among players and became the most played
PC game in the world. We are honored to serve over 100 million players worldwide every month.
To support our growth and nurture our relationship with our French player s, we will be opening an office in Paris in 2017. To make that launch a reality, however, we need a handful of experienced pros to help us lay the groundwork, starting, basically… tomorrow! This is where you come in.
Let’s talk about Esports! We are looking for a humble, ambitious and broad-thinking leader who can teach us a thing or two. We promise to return the favor. Just like us, you are passionate about games and take play seriously.
As Head of Esports, you’ll lead the largest community tournament program in France and provide League of Legends players with competitive experiences of unprecedented awesomeness. Your strategic vision, entrepreneurialism, leadership and passion for esports will help you shatter players’ expectations of what a community tournament can be, establishing new standards of greatness for French esports. You’ll work together with top-level sponsors, players and teams, comb through community metrics, track trends, and iterate on our best practices to bring out the highest-caliber competition that connects with players in France.
As a Paris Rioter, you’ll join a smaller but dedicated team of Rioters committed to striving to be the most player-focused game company in the world. You’ll share our prioritization of player experience, rejection of convention and maniacal passion for gaming. France needs a publishing revolution: you (and any teams you manage) will deliver unique player experiences that show French players they aren’t lost in translation.
You are:
- Certifiably educated and experienced: you rocked your bachelor’s, then racked up another 7years of experience in entertainment, biz-dev, consulting, sports marketing, or large-scale event production
- A team captain: you have a track record of thoughtful leadership and high-level decision-making based on clear strategic goals with concrete priorities; you can build a team from scratch, with the right sense of urgency, but without compromising on quality; despite all your experience and skills, you humbly stop to listen to others’ ideas, regardless of age or seniority.
- A networker: you actively cultivate a list of contacts who not only add value to esports, but who are happy to help you source specific expertise; your sharp written and verbal communication skills enable you to effectively negotiate with vendors, partners, and sponsors
- A sports nut : you wear face paint on game day to support your team, and seek out every stat, factoid, and story about your favorite sport, whether it’s virtual or IRL
- Data-minded: your analytical mindset helps you translate raw data into exciting and meaningful info through reports, budgets, and estimates that support marketing strategy
- Results-oriented: when a task needs to be handled, you’re down to get your hands dirty; you don’t wait around for others to give you marching orders before taking action
- A native French speaker
You Will:
- Manage all levels of pro and semi-pro esports: overall strategy and design, large-scale events (on and offline) production and promotion, broadcasting setup and operation, sponsors deal-making and relationship, teams interface, marketing cost management, and content coordination through various media.
- Developing an aspirational path and ecosystem for all French player s. From grassroot to the very top, we want competitive players of all kinds to be able to level up and someday become our French champions and later on the ambassadors of France during our LCS and World championships!
- Create and execute on strategies that compel players to make pilgrimages to Riot esports events that’ll leave them with positive, powerful experiences and memories
- Ensure consistent brand messaging and clear communications across all media, including advertising materials and promotional copy.
- Find, win over, and manage relationships with premium brands who have the vision to sponsor esports content, and build lasting bonds with new vendors while fortifying the valuable relationships we already have.
- Expand and elevate the current team to deliver, finding the right people to raise our competitive scene to international level.
- Help us make League of Legends a sport for the decades to come in France!
