Head of Education – Leicester City Football Club

Leicester City Football Club is seeking to recruit a well organised and experienced Head of Education, asthma to be responsible for all aspects of the Academy’s provision for education and education philosophy of young players and prospective young players at the Academy. This position will be full time and based at the Leicester City Football Club Training Ground.
The primary function will be to deliver and organise both the formal and informal education program across all phases, and contribute to the all-round holistic development of each player in accordance with the education philosophy.
Key Duties will include:
• To plan, organise and deliver the Academy’s education programmes.
• To build and maintain links with current education providers, associated partners and stakeholders such as parents and teachers.
• To ensure that the education provision meets the requirements as set out within the EPPP.
• Plan, implement and monitor the educational development of all players within a Hybrid and Full-Time model.
• To manage part-time and casual education staff.
• To make a positive contribution to the multi-disciplinary Player Review process and produce educational reports for parents that support the Player Parent reviews.
• To develop and deliver a Player Care programme that meets the needs of our players across the phases.
• To develop and implement opportunities that contribute to the holistic development of our players.
• To plan, implement and monitor the Academy transport plan.
Candidates need to:
• Be an experienced Education deliverer with PGCE and QTS qualifications.
• Demonstrate the ability to plan, manage and deliver the Club’s education programme.
• Have experience and the ability of developing links and partnerships with schools and educational bodies.
• Have a good understanding of children’s welfare and safeguarding aspects.
• Have experience of working to strict budgets using the resources available to meet the agreed strategy.
• Have excellent communication skills (oral and written) with the ability to assess, prepare, report and monitor
• Possess strong IT skills including, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Liaise with player accommodation.
• Full clean driving licence.
Suitable candidates will not only meet the minimum expected level of qualification but will be able to demonstrate the attitude and behaviours necessary to work in this player centred learning environment and be prepared to work at times unsocial hours including evenings and weekends in line with the delivery of the Academy program. In addition the successful candidate will play an important role in the development and delivery of the Players lifestyle management programme. Experience of working in an elite sport environment is preferred.
