Aviva Premiership club Harlequins have extended their sponsorship deal with brewery Greene King until the end of the 2016-17 season.

Greene King ranks among Harlequins’ long term corporate supporters having signed its first sponsorship with the club in 2003.

Under the terms of the latest three year contract extension Greene King IPA will continue as the club’s Official Beer. In addition, the brewer will join with the club in developing the “Quins’ Head” supporters’ pub facility at The Twickenham Stoop.

Greene King is the UK’s leading cask ale Brewer and has been brewing award-winning ales for over 200 years. Among the crafted ales made at its Bury St Edmunds brewery are Greene King IPA, Old Speckled Hen and Belhaven Best.

Joe Parks, On-Trade Sales Director at Greene King commented on the new deal: “Rugby union is enjoying a growing international profile and that will only increase with the 2015 Rugby World Cup being held in this country.

“We are excited about continuing our relationship with Harlequins not only for the World Cup period but also through the club’s 150th anniversary celebrations in 2016.”

James Kendall, Commercial Director of Harlequins added: “The fact that we’re announcing the extension of a commercial partnership that began a decade ago speaks volumes for the quality of the relationship between Greene King and the club.

“Not only is Greene King, the UK’s leading cask ale brewer, it is also an experienced sponsor and understands the added value that rugby brings to its promotional activities. We’re pleased to have extended our relationship through the World Cup period and beyond.”
