Gold Coast Bids Farewell To SportAccord

With the 17th edition of SportAccord ending in Queensland, Australia, today, Tom Tate, Mayor of host city Gold Coast, expressed his optimism on the positive impact the event will have in Gold Coast as the city and Queensland continue to build on the legacy of the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

“The biggest legacy,” he said, wasn’t the buildings that you see. It’s the feeling the Gold Coasters get, the pride they feel. Now that we are on the world stage, we don’t intend to get off.”
