Gloucester Rugby have appointed three new non-executive directors to their board including former British Olympic Association chief executive Andy Hunt.

Hunt (pictured), who was also Team GB’s chef de mission for the London Games, is joined by former Scarlets chairman Huw Evans and ex-International Rugby Board commercial director Huw Morgan at the Aviva Premiership club.

Former managing director Ken Nottage and chief financial officer Wayne Humphries have both left Kingsholm.

Chairman Ryan Walkinshaw said: “It’s very important for Gloucester Rugby to maintain the momentum that has been created in recent times. That applies to matters on and off the pitch.

“So, it gives me great pleasure to announce three new additions to the board in Huw Evans, Andy Hunt and Huw Morgan, all of whom will bring considerable experience and expertise to the business.

“Huw Evans is a well-respected and highly experienced businessman, with a considerable knowledge and passion for rugby; with great connections across the game established over decades from his involvement as the chairman of the Scarlets and as the founder of Regional Rugby Wales.

“Huw Morgan has occupied senior roles at Harlequins and, most recently, as commercial director at the IRB.

“Meanwhile, Andy is well known for his role as chef de mission for Team GB for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

“It’s the start of an exciting new chapter in the history of Gloucester Rugby, one that will see Kingsholm host matches in Rugby World Cup 2015.”
