French Insurer Groupama Seals Naming Rights to Ferencvaros Stadium in Hungary

July 3, 2014

The French insurance company Groupama has signed a long term naming rights deal for the Ferencvaros Stadium in Hungary.

The deal means that the stadium, which will be home to Ferencvarosi TC, will be renamed as the Groupama Arena.

Lagardere Unlimited Stadium Solutions, who signed a ten year stadium operation and club marketing deal in April 2014, concluded the deal between the pair.

For Ulrik Ruhnau, Managing Director of Lagardère Unlimited Stadium Solutions: “To optimize the commercial potential of the stadium is an objective that we are about to achieve with this naming right deal. Groupama is a premium sport business player and we ‘re delighted to go forward with them into the first benchmark stadium of Hungary.”

The stadium holds 23,800 people and is described as a “model project for Eastern Europe,” with plans for it to host more than just football.

The hospitality area will hold up to 2,880 guests across its three floors when the stadium officially opens in August 2014.

Yann Ménétrier, CEO of Groupama Garancia Biztosító commented: “As one of the main sponsors of FTC, we have a long-term relationship with the team and we wished to step forward in order to have an even closer cooperation.

“Groupama Garancia Biztosító sponsors several sport associations and we would like to widen our sport sponsorship strategy with this decision.

“Being an official naming right partner is an honour for the Groupama Garancia Biztosító.”
