FPF Hire IMG Senior Vice President Diarmuid Crowley as Chief Commercial Officer

March 13, 2017

The Portuguese Football Federation has hired IMG Senior Vice President Diarmuid Crowley as Chief Commercial Officer.

During his time at IMG Diarmuid managed UEFA’s Euro 2008 Hospitality Program, oversaw the commercialisation of the new Wembley Stadium and was CEO of the Rio 2016 Olympics Hospitality Programme.  He also acted as Chief Operating Officer of IMG’s Brazilian operations and previously managed IMG’s activities in Russia, Turkey and Qatar.

Diarmuid said that he looks “forward to building on recent successes both on and off the pitch, highlighted by the opening of Cidade do Futebol, the Federation’s National Training Campus and, of course, the National team’s success at Euro 2016.”

Portuguese Football Federation CEO Tiago Craveiro added that “two years ago the Portuguese Football Federation embraced a massive challenge: making Portugal everyone’s second favourite national team. As Brazil used to be everybody’s second team, we want fans across the world to fall in love with and support the Portuguese National Team. Portugal’s popularity is at an all-time high after the Euro-2016 success, and Cristiano Ronaldo has been named once again Player of the Year at the FIFA Awards. Defining a clear strategy and picking the best professionals are fundamental steps to achieve our goals”.
