Four Bidders Make Coventry City Deadline

June 13, 2013

Four bids made the deadline of noon on Thursday to takeover Coventry City Football Club, the joint-administrator has confirmed.

The deadline on Thursday was for best and final offers to purchase CCFC Ltd’s assets and joint-administrator Paul Appleton will now assess each bid, which are confidential.

A statement from Appleton read: “Following today’s deadline for final and best bids for CCFC Limited, I can confirm I have received four bids.

“I will obviously now take time to consider these bids before contacting the bidders with my final decision on a preferred purchaser.

“There will also be discussions with the Football League as part of this process.”

The Sky Blues have been embroiled in a row over unpaid rent for months and the League One team was docked ten points for entering administration, a punishment that cost them promotion back to the Championship.

American multi-millionaire Preston Haskell IV, a property tycoon, is considered one of the bidders, with Coventry Cuty Football Club (Holdings) and ACL also thought to be in the running.
