FIFA’s Ethics Committee has opened proceedings against former German FA General Secretary Helmut Sandrock.

Sandrock, was also tournament director of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the 2006 FIFA World Cup™, and is being investigated based on a report submitted by the investigatory chamber.

The investigation of Sandrock was opened in March and the final report was passed to the adjudicatory chamber on 1 September 2016.

In its final report, the investigatory chamber recommends a sanction of social work and a fine of CHF 50,000 for violations of General rules of conduct, Loyalty and Duty of disclosure, cooperation and reporting of the FIFA Code of Ethics.

Sandrock will be invited to submit his position including any evidence with regard to the final report of the investigatory chamber and may request a hearing at a later date.

He resigned from his post with the German FA back in February this year.
