Floyd Mayweather Offers Conor McGregor $15m for Bout

January 12, 2017

Retired boxer Floyd Mayweather has offered Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) champion Conor McGregor $15m to face him in a crossover bout.

Former five-weight World Champion boxer Mayweather retired unbeaten in 2015, while McGregor – who obtained a professional boxing license in November 2016 – has lost just one UFC bout since joining the corporation in 2013.

Mayweather has stated he wants ‘a guaranteed $100m’ to fight McGregor, and has offered to pay the UFC fighter $15m, plus a back-end percentage, to make the meeting happen.

McGregor’s UFC contract means that the company would have to agree to or co-promote any potential fight between their fighter and Mayweather.
