FINA Agrees China Bank Sponsorship For World Championships

Swimming’s international federation, FINA, has agreed a sponsorship deal with the credit card business unit of Shanghai Pudong Development Bank.
China’s SPD Bank Credit Card Center has been named as an ‘Official Partner’ of this year’s FINA Swimming World Cup and World Swimming Championships (25m), which will be held in Hangzhou from 11th to 16th December.
The partnership signals the Shanghai-based company’s first sports sponsorship as it becomes FINA’s exclusive partner worldwide for banking and credit card services.
FINA President, Julio Maglione, said of the deal: “FINA is very pleased to add SPD Bank Credit Card Centre to its Official Partners list and to team up with one of the most respected banks in China which will tremendously help promote swimming within the Chinese market.
“SPD Banks Credit Card Centre’s support is of the utmost importance to achieve a successful strategy for those two major swimming competitions.”
This year’s FINA Swimming World Cup begins next month in Russia.
