FIFA Sponsorship and the ATP World Tour on the Agenda for iSportconnect TV Weekly Round Up

The second installment of the iSportconnect TV Weekly Round Up is now available. Featuring John Taylor, ailment the founder of sport sponsorship agency John Taylor Partners and Patricio Apey, discount the founder of the Ace Group, ambulance this week’s show focuses on FIFA’s new sponsorship strategy and the upcoming ATP World Tour.
Hosted by iSportconnect chairman Michael Cunnah, the Weekly Round Up is the chance for viewers to hear the expert opinion of Taylor and Apey on the big topics in sport.
Starting with the story that FIFA had changed their sponsorship strategy to include regional packages, Taylor said: “There is no doubt, in my opinion that it will work. The reason for doing it is that it will generate additional revenue and brands with big activation budgets.”
Apey and Taylor moved on to discuss the ATP World Tour, which is being hosted at The O2 in London in November, discussing the sponsorship issues surrounding the tour and where it should be hosted.
Apey said: “There is a player factor, unlike in the World Cup where the sport is much bigger than any athlete. In tennis, if you look at the trend of the World Tour finals, Germany was such a boom with Boris Becker, Michael Stich and Steffi Graf. Today I don’t think it would be as successful in Germany.
“The Andy Murray affect was seen early on and created a big attention of the sport in this country, outside of Wimbledon.”
