FIFA Ethics Committee Want Lifetime Ban Handed to Platini
November 24, 2015
The FIFA Ethics Committe has requested a life ban for UEFA president Michel Platini, according to his lawyer.
Platini, along with FIFA president Sepp Blatter, is serving a 90-day suspension for allegations of corruption, especially a “disloyal payment” made to Platini by Blatter in 2011 for £1.35m.
Both men have denied any wrongdoing but had appeals rejected by FIFA last week.
But Platini’s lawyer Thibaud d’Alès has now confirmed FIFA are seeking to ban the Frenchman for life, which he describes as a “scandal” and “excessive”.
