May 27, 2014

Leading sports CRM agency, Goodform, has announced a packed itinerary and speaker line-up for its Sports CRM Summit, which this year will be hosted by BBC Radio 5 Live sports presenter, Jonathan Overend. Now in its sixth year, the Summit will be held for the first time at The International Conference Centre in Birmingham and features speakers from across the sports industry, including; Rugby World Cup 2015, British Athletics, Silverstone, Derby County Football Club, British Rowing, Cardiff City Football Club, The Ticket Factory plus many more.

The Sports CRM Summit is designed to provide a platform for sports industry professionals to explore the latest CRM strategies and tactics to achieve objectives, such as; maximising fan engagement, increasing participation levels, improving commercial processes and revenues and enhancing the customer experience.  Data management and optimisation strategies will also feature throughout the Summit as sports organisations continue to seek to drive value and engagement from their databases.

This year the Summit will also focus on the customer journey and the ‘live experience’ in the digital age, exploring the tactics that sports brands can employ to engage with their audience before, during and after the event. Paul Thandi, Chief Executive of the NEC Group will be speaking from a venue perspective about merging the physical with the virtual experience.

Delegates will hear real life case studies and tangible examples which can be applied to professional clubs, associations, leagues, national governing bodies and venues looking to improve their CRM, digital, data and insight strategies. The format of the day will feature keynote speakers, panel discussions and tailored workshops, giving delegates the chance to get involved through lively and interactive sessions.

Commenting on his involvement in the Summit as a keynote speaker, Niels De Vos, Chief Executive of British Athletics said, “I am delighted to be taking part in this year’s Sports CRM Summit. At British Athletics we have placed considerable focus over the last few years on building up our data and insight capabilities to increase our knowledge of athletics fans and participants. I am looking forward to sharing some of our learnings and strategies with delegates at the Summit in September.”

Alison Dalrymple, Managing Director of Goodform also added, “We are pleased to be joined by such established industry names for our sixth Sports CRM Summit.  By introducing a more dynamic programme this year, delegates will have the opportunity to interact directly with relevant and experienced speakers and panel members.  Hearing first hand stories of CRM brings the projects to life for people and should provide real ‘takeaways’ from the day for delegates.”

Jonathan Overend concluded: “I’m passionate about clubs and venues encouraging more participants and spectators to enjoy sport and that’s why this event is so exciting. From my point of view, in the national media, I’m especially keen to hear how digital developments are adding to the live spectator experience.”
