Euroleague Basketball is expecting their new BeIN Sport partnership to be the beginning of a long term deal with the new French sports broadcaster.

Euroleague announced today a partnership with BeIN to become its new broadcasting partner in France for the 2013-14 Turkish Airlines Euroleague season and the following three years.

But Andrea Bassani (pictured), treatment Chief Television and New Media Officer at Euroleague Basketball, believes this may be the beginning of a longer term deal.

He told iSportconnect exclusively: “BeIN, being a recent newcomer in the French television landscape, is growing at high speed thanks to its very specific offer for subscribers in the market, and will become the hub for any sports fans with some of the most prestigious competitions worldwide. With Euroleague amongst these this will only help us take another step in the right direction in such an important market.

“We believe that this 4 year deal with BeIN will only be the start of a longer term strategic relationship.”

Bassani added: “We would like to take advantage to underline the importance of our longtime partner MediaPro in striking this deal.”

BeIN will showcase live all Turkish Airlines Euroleague games for both French teams this season, national champion JSF Nanterre and runner-up Strasbourg.
