Eurovision Delivers Convention Highlights

SportAccord Convention 2014 in Turkey received wide television exposure thanks to its partnership with EUROVISION, prostate the Convention’s Official Content Distribution Partner.  

During the event which took place 6-11 April, advice  daily highlights produced by ISB were made available through EUROVISION’s WorldFeed service and WorldLink on-demand platform.

“We have been partners of SportAccord Convention for many years, but now we are taking our support of the event into a new phase by making news and related content from the Convention accessible to broadcasters around the world,” said Stefan Kuerten, Director of Sports & Business Department at EBU/EUROVISION.

European broadcasters in Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Russia, Slovenia, Spain and Switzerland and Eurosport were among those accessing SportAccord Convention 2014 video, as did channels in Iran, Kuwait, Qatar and Mexico – and numerous news agencies including Reuters and SNTV.

On average, nine companies per day previewed content for broadcast and online use, with a high of 16 on the opening day of the Convention.

“We were very pleased to see wider television distribution than ever before this year and thank EUROVISION for enabling broadcasters around the world to show coverage of our event,” said SportAccord Convention Managing Director Nis Hatt.

The 12th annual SportAccord Convention, the first edition of the world sport summit to take place in Turkey, also received exposure from 30-second commercials shown on Euronews before and during the event. Euronews aired more than 50 commercial spots for the Convention.

Held in a different city every year, SportAccord Convention is a unique opportunity for international sporting leaders to engage with business, and features a dynamic exhibition as well as the annual general meetings of governing bodies of world sport.
